Loved it. Spent some time with the artists and docents learning about the artwork and the process. Highly recommend going on a tour!
We often go to akg and this was our first time cruising the street to the burchfield Penney and boy was it worth it. Highly recommended!
Beautiful place to tour but was really hoping to see more art then we did there our of past art museums I've been too this Definitely needs more.. but it had a great lay out and room to grow
The Lipsey glass collection is on view until the end of the month (12/23). It is spectacularly good. Also on view until March, I think, is their periodic exhibit of art in craft media. Past exhibits have been excellent; I haven't seen this year's yet.
Museum is actually pretty great. It's just their parking during events blows. You'd think they could talk to buff state about opening up one of their lots, especially after hours.
This museum holds the archives and art of many local artists as well as the archives and the art of local artist Charles E Burchfield . I was truly fascinated with each and every visit. I’ve also had the opportunity to attend Artist Talks hosted by Resource Art and felt surrounded by creativity and beauty. The shop on the first floor is full of affordable work by local artists including jewelery, textiles, pottery, greeting cards and so much more!
Glorious gallery punching well above its weight and certainly the best game in town with the Albright Knox presently closed for some major renos. Well put together galleries featuring Buffalo and upstate NY artists. Some important regional and national pieces here. 2nd Friday each month is free. Small but well thought out gift shop. Easily merits an hour or two of your visit to Buffalo. Pay Parking is on-site: you may be able or snag free parking a few mins walk away on site streets. Kudos as well for the environmentally sustainable design!
Beautiful space. Excellent exhibitions.
